By joining the United Nations Global Compact, Everton confirms its formal commitment to fostering a healthy, inclusive and sustainable global economy, respectful of human and labour rights, able to protect the environment and actively involved in every aspect of the business. To this end, Everton endorses, supports and applies the Ten Fundamental Principles of the Global Compact and contributes to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Certification

Since 2000, Everton has been certified BIO, a global management system based on the interaction between the best environmental practices, a high level of biodiversity, the protection of natural resources and the application of rigorous criteria regarding animal welfare.

Since 2007 the Tagliolo Monferrato plant, since 2012 the Indian plant of Everton Tea India and since 2014 the Croatian plant of Herbarium d.o.o., have operated in compliance with the IFS-INTERNATIONAL FOOD STANDARD. The IFS Food standard is a GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative) recognized standard for food industry audits.

Rainforest Alliance 2020 stands for sustainable agriculture and better opportunities for farmers, their families and our planet. In fact, it aims to grow a more sustainable world with the use of market forces and social forces to protect nature and improve the lives of farmers and communities. Rainforest Alliance 2020 creates a fully certified supply chain that starts from primary production and ends with retailers.

Since September 2006, Everton has been registered in the FLO Fairtrade Labeling Organization International register as an importer and licensee for the use of the FAIRTRADE brand on Italian territory.

The SA8000 Ethical Certification refers to the regulatory standard consisting of nine social requirements aimed at guaranteeing compliance with ethical parameters in the production chain.
Everton Tea India has been SA8000 certified since June 2014.
